Our Music Technology and Culture Exploration program offers students a unique opportunity to dive into the world of music production, sound engineering, and cultural exploration. Led by industry experts and educators from London’s thriving music scene, this course is designed to help students develop practical skills in music technology while immersing themselves in the rich musical contemporary culture and industry of London.

  • Open to All Experience Levels: For students aged 12-18, regardless of prior experience or knowledge in music technology. Basic music knowledge is required.

  • Hands-on Learning: Perfect for students eager to experiment with digital audio workstations (DAWs), synthesizers, and live sound equipment.

  • Collaborative Environment: A supportive space where students can collaborate on music projects and develop creative ideas with peers.

 

Learning Areas:

  • Music Production: Learn the fundamentals of digital music production using popular software.

  • Sound Design: Explore synthesizers, sampling, and audio manipulation to create original sounds and compositions.

  • Recording and Engineering: Gain hands-on experience in a studio environment, learning how to record live instruments, mix tracks, and master final audio productions.

  • Live Sound: Introduction to live sound engineering techniques, including PA setup, microphone placement, and mixing for live performances.

  • D Jing and Performance: Learn D Jing techniques and beat matching, and how to use controllers for live electronic music performances.

  • Songwriting: Gain an understanding of cutting-edge music creation techniques while developing skills in melody, harmony, and lyric writing. This course provides the tools you need to craft compelling and original music, helping you navigate and thrive in today’s evolving music landscape.

Cultural Expedition in London

Outside the classroom, students will explore London’s vibrant music scene and cultural landmarks, applying their newly acquired skills in real-world settings. Excursions to iconic venues, studios, and music-related museums offer an exciting cultural immersion into the city’s rich musical history and cutting-edge music technology scene. Highlights include:

  • Studio Visits: Tour world-famous recording studios and explore the technical aspects behind legendary recordings.

  • Music Venues: Visit iconic live music venues known for launching music careers.

  • Music History in London:Immerse yourself in London's rich musical heritage by exploring key historical sites such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Music. Gain a deeper understanding of London’s lasting influence on the global music scene. This experience offers a unique combination of historical insight and cultural appreciation in the heart of one of the world’s greatest musical cities.
